Whew! It's a been awhile, I know. As a writer by trade, I tend to not do any other writing whilst working on my novels--which is what I'm currently doing! :-) We're also gearing up to start our Con circuit over at I. R. Harris Books, which always proves to be an exciting time! Currently, Culloweaves and I. R. Harris Books are working to open an Etsy store: Studio Vudu--we're super thrilled with the prospects and are looking forward to this wonderful new venture. Studio Vudu will feature not only our stunning and unique textiles, but also a variety of original mixed media art and Giclée prints. As an artist, it is my passion and my mission to encourage others to find their own creative voice, to realize their own creative potential and to utilize the healing power of art in their own lives.
With spring just around the corner, Culloweaves will be adding a new line of gorgeous new scarves so make sure to check out our "Working Studio" page in the coming weeks! As we embark upon our next "tour", we're thrilled to bring our fans and loyal readers much more of an expression of who we are here at Culloweaves/I. R. Harris Books. Be on the lookout for a ton of photos from our first event of the 2015 season, The South Carolina Comicon March 21-22 and as always, Happy Weaving!
Hey guys! We just returned from attending our first Fiber Fair in Asheville, North Carolina! It was an overwhelming experience--in the best of ways. It's a good thing I'm a starving artist otherwise, I'm fairly certain I would have bought out the entire fair! I don't often use a lot of animal fiber in my work, but I have moved into incorporating some of these textiles along with the sari ribbons and silk--they compliment each other well and add unique dimension and texture to my pieces. I'm very inspired having seen some of the amazing textile spinners at work and it's my hope to bring their unique talents into some of my new creations! Enjoy the pics from the show and we'll be back soon! Oh, and I threw in some of my gorgeous mountains here in Western North Carolina--the colors of fall are what I'm gravitating towards these days for studio work!
We're just getting the site and blog underway so minimal is the theme for right now, but don't fret! We'll be posting more than you probably want in just a few weeks. Until then, enjoy getting to know us and the amazing area in which we live and weave! More to come...
A WEAVER'S TALE
I'm Isabella, the main weaver at Culloweaves! I'm also a wonky Dark Fantasy author over at I.R. Harris Books. When I'm not writing or weaving or editing or getting tangled in my yarn, I spend as much time as possible enjoying the incredible mountains that surround my home and hitting the ComiCon circuit. Oh, and I am for sure--a wonky weaver!
